15 Movie Sequels That Will Definitely Be Announced In 2017
13. Zootopia 2
Even though it hasn't been formally confirmed yet, a sequel to Disney's billion dollar-grossing 2016 animation is about as much of a sure thing as there can be in Hollywood.
Zootopia is currently the second highest-grossing original movie of all time behind Avatar, which is basically an immediate rubber-stamp for a follow-up.
The film was a gigantic critical and commercial success with an entertaining buddy movie dynamic which makes it ripe for numerous sequels. There's huge franchise potential here if Disney takes their time developing the movie and doesn't rush it through.
Disney currently have two placeholder release dates for unannounced projects, November 27, 2019 and November 25, 2020, so it'd be pretty surprising if Zootopia 2 didn't take one of them, probably the latter as the Mouse House isn't exactly known for expediency when it comes to animated sequels.
