Though Paddington 2 sadly didn't quite match the box office success of its predecessor, it still multiplied its budget almost five-fold, in addition to holding an unprecedented 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Director Paul King already talked-up the prospect of Paddington 3 before the film's release, adding that it all depended on box office.

StudioCanal would be daft not to capitalise on the audience goodwill towards these movies, and so it's reasonable to expect the third film to be announced around the time of Paddington 2's home video release next month.

If not, fans will collectively give StudioCanal one hell of a hard stare.
