How many horror movies that gross north of $250 million don't get sequels? Though writer-director Jordan Peele was initially bullish about confirming a follow-up, the film earning four Oscar nominations in major categories may well have changed his mind.

In a recent interview, Peele said that he's seriously considering the idea, as long as he can make a second movie that doesn't just feel like a perfunctory horror sequel.

With the film multiplying its $4.5 million budget more than 55-fold, it would be insane for there not to be a Get Out 2, whether it reconvened with Daniel Kaluuya's Chris or, perhaps more likely, simply took place within the same universe.

Unless Peele gets scooped up to work on a Marvel movie or another big-budget blockbuster over the next few months, the sequel will probably get a formal thumbs-up in 2018.
