15 Movie Sequels That Will Definitely Be Announced In 2018

10. Happy Death Day 2

Happy Death Day Jessica Rothe
Universal

Predicted Release Date: February 2019

Happy Death Day was yet another box office smash hit for the seemingly unstoppable might of Blumhouse Productions, making $115.3 million against a mere $4.8 million budget, and scoring not-bad reviews in the process.

The simple, easily marketable horror movie premise is practically begging for a sequel to be made, whether it again stars Jessica Rothe or tells a tangential story within the same wheelhouse.

Director Christopher B. Landon has already begun work on plotting out the follow-up even though there's no official confirmation yet, but it goes without saying that Universal will want to strike while the iron's hot with this one.

Happy Death Day has considerable franchise potential written all over it, so why wait?
