The Original: The Narnia franchise launched with 2005's smash hit The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, though the two sequels that followed were nowhere near as successful either critically or commercially. The Sequel: The year after the third movie came out, Walden Media's rights to Narnia expired, but by 2013, C. S. Lewis' estate had inked a new deal for a fourth movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair. Oscar-nominated screenwriter David Magee (Finding Neverland, Life of Pi) has been hired to write the script, and though a 2016 release is currently projected, without much word on the project shooting anytime soon, it'll likely slip to 2017. Will It Be Any Good?: There are a few issues here: firstly, which cast members will be returning? Liam Neeson seems a likely bet as Aslan, but beyond that, it's anyone's guess. Also, given how the latter two Narnia films were only moderate successes, short of a major re-think of the plan moving forward, this could just be another mildly entertaining if largely forgettable fantasy yarn.
