The Truth

Nobody gets tangled on account of the fact that Rapunzel openly states how much she "brush and brush and brush and brushes" her hair in all of her free time. There's not a single knot or tatt in there.

And strictly speaking, the narrative is pretty straight-forward too, so it's a misnomer on two accounts.
