15 Movies That Made 2016 The Dumbest Year Ever
6. Mother's Day
The (hopefully) final entry into Garry Marshall's seasonal romantic comedy series following the director's death earlier this year, Mother's Day is every bit the emotionally rancid, lazy ensemble film you'd expect at this point.
Grossly overlong at 118 minutes, lacking any interesting drama whatsoever and totally wasting a cast including Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, Timothy Olyphant, Margo Martindale and Jennifer Garner among others, there aren't many movies this year more cynically reaching for the wallets of its sentimental target audience.
Stamina-drainingly boring and lacking a single emotionally honest bone in its body, this is toxic studio sludge at its near-worst.
