15 Movies That Made 2016 The Dumbest Year Ever

This adaptation of the classic video game platformer had so much going for it: developers Insomniac Games contributed significantly to the production, with the series' former writer T.J. Fixman penning the movie's script, while the title characters were voiced by the very same actors from the games.

Sadly, while this may not be the worst video game movie of the year, it is by far the most boring and disappointing. It had all the potential in the world, but was thrown away thanks to a kiddie-pandering script that also hewed far too closely to the plot of the game released just a few weeks earlier.

Sure, the voice acting is good (especially Paul Giamatti as Chairman Drek), but everything else is basically forgettable, and it's yet another promising video game film that doesn't even touch the sides. Fingers crossed for Assassin's Creed, then?
