1. Naked

Though The Emoji Movie holds the #1 spot as far as unfathomably awful cinema goes, it's actually not quite the most idiotic film of 2017.

That honour is bestowed to Naked, a straight-to-Netflix comedy starring Marlon Wayans as a man who gets drunk the night before his wedding and wakes up naked in an elevator, far from the wedding venue. Every time he reaches the time of his wedding an hour later, he's thrown back to waking up in the elevator again, totally starkers.

It's Groundhog Day mixed with The Hangover, get it? That's surely what the, ahem, elevator pitch for this film was, and while it lives down to the low standards any self-respecting human would set for a Marlon Wayans movie, the premise is still stupid enough to feel like it was written by an infant going through their clothes-free phase whose parents just watched Groundhog Day.

No matter if Netflix ends up winning a shedload of Oscars one day, they will have always bankrolled this movie, a project seemingly too stupid to even land in cinemas. For shame.
