15 Movies To Watch Out For This Oscar Season

1. The Imitation Game

The Buzz: Morten Tyldum (Headhunters) directs this biopic of British mathematician Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch), who helped crack Germany's Enigma code, and in later life was prosecuted for his admission to being gay. No film screening at Toronto this year was as warmly-received as The Imitation Game, winning the fest's coveted People's Choice Award for Best Film, and instantly igniting a debate over its awards prospects. Oscar Predictions: Expect huge things for The Imitation Game, namely nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (Tyldum), Best Actor (Cumberbatch), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, and possibly even Best Supporting Actress (Keira Knightley). Most of the attention hinges on the perceived Best Actor war between Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne, and it's certainly the movie's most likely win, though given the strong response and worthy subject matter, this one could go all the way. Release Date: November 14th (UK), November 21st (US) What are your predictions for the upcoming Academy Awards? Are there any other films viewers should desperately be looking out for? Shout it out in the comments!
