And now for a film that’s memorable for all the wrong reasons: Joel Schumacher’s notoriously awful Batman & Robin.

The fourth and final instalment in Warner Brothers’ first Batman series after two well-received Tim Burton directed works and one not so loved effort from Schumacher, the much-maligned movie is not only considered the worst Batman movie but also one of the worst movies full stop.

Starring an equally maligned George Clooney as the Caped Crusader, the movie had the dubious honour of being nominated for the most Razzies at the Golden Raspberry Awards the following year and was so bad it effectively put an end to the Batman series that Burton had so successfully kickstarted in 1989.

To its credit though, the end of this series paved the way for Christopher Nolan’s Batman reboot the Dark Knight trilogy so we have Batman & Robin to thank that for at least.
