15 Movies You Won’t Believe Are 20 Years Old

13. Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery

Bane Poison Ivy Batman And Robin
New Line Cinema

A silly sendup of James Bond and other 60s spy movies, the first instalment of the Austin Powers franchise introduced us to Mike Myers as the sex-crazed super spy cryogenically frozen in the Swinging Sixties and reawakened in the 90s to take on his arch-enemy Dr Evil, a Bond-esque villain hell-bent on world domination and also played by Myers.

The comedy spawned two commercially successful sequels – 1999’s Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and 2002’s Austin Powers in Goldmember co-starring Queen Beyoncé in her feature film debut and if Mike Myers has his way this won’t be the last we see of the throwback spy.

Though plans for an Austin Powers 4 aren’t yet set in concrete, it seems Myers is too feeling a little nostalgic about the movie’s 20th birthday as he’s recently been stated as saying he’d love to do another instalment. The pull of those velvet suits and prosthetic buck teeth must be too great to ignore.
