15 Obscure Horror Films You Need To See

Directing duo Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo drove a blade through the heart (or is that womb?) of the genre with this low key scare fest.

Following a little trodden plot - a pregnant widow looks to bunk down on Christmas Eve, only for a stranger to appear at her door, bent on ripping the baby from her - the directors use style in the opening before cranking up the tension with a taut, and palpable stalk and survive plot.

Everything from their homages - BĂ©atrice Dalle's almost Terminator-esque killer in her old fashioned garb is like something from a Dario Argento flick - to a finale that will probably never be committed to celluloid again in terms of controversy, make Inside a worthy winner on this list and, better still, a contender for best horror movie of the century so far.

Got some low key spine chillers to discuss? Peeved that Critters 4 (the space one) didn't make the cut? Then start commenting below.
