15 Original Upcoming Movies Which Might Save Hollywood

1. The Hateful Eight

Release Date: Fall 2015 What It's About: The Hateful Eight takes place in Wyoming shortly after the end of the American Civil War, and follows eight individuals, all of who seek refuge from a blizzard in a stagecoach stopover. John "The Hangman" Ruth (Kurt Russell) is tasked with delivering dangerous criminal Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to be hanged at the town of Red Rock, though of course, a few of those six remaining individuals have ideas of their own. Why It Can Save Hollywood: For one, it's a freaking Quentin Tarantino movie. The guy has arguably the strongest batting average of any major Hollywood filmmaker, and he can almost always be relied upon to deliver something fresh, hilarious and brutally violent. Plus, just look at that cast: in addition to Russell and Leigh, there's Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Zoe Bell and, apparently, a cameo of some kind from Channing Tatum. Anyone who read the leaked script knows that QT's onto another winner here, and though the smaller-scale approach might strike more casual Tarantino fans as a little odd, it's sure to make for one of the year's most ambitious and fascinating films.
