The Twist: Hela (Cate Blanchett) will in fact be the MCU's iteration of Death, and in turn Thanos' (Josh Brolin) girlfriend, who becomes central to the big guy's quest for the Infinity Stones.

Why It Could Ruin The Movie: Though this has some basis in the comics, it would be rather underwhelming for Thanos' ultimate quest to be for love (whereby he wants to destroy the universe to prove his fondness for Death).

What passes muster on the comic book page won't necessarily hold water with millions of moviegoers worldwide, and after so many years of build-up, a romantic motivation could easily land with a thud and a groan.

How Likely Is It?: Blanchett's involvement in Infinity War is still very much a rumour at this stage, and the MCU has a history of significantly diverging from the source material, so fingers crossed they're making a smart call here. 4/10
