The Twist: Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is, indeed, the father of Rey (Daisy Ridley).

Why It Could Ruin The Movie: Because it's exasperating at this point how aggressively these films focus on everyone being related to everyone else. It's contrived and pandering, and making Rey Luke's daughter feels more like cheesy fan fiction than earned dramatic storytelling.

Why can't Rey just be some random human? The Star Wars universe is way too incestuous as it is.

How Likely Is It?: This is so hard to call. On one hand, the theme of family pervades throughout society more universally than just about any other, so they may be unable to resist.

On the other, the reveal also seems so widely telegraphed that fans are possibly being set-up for a rug-pull, where Rey's father is another character or, better yet, a total stranger the audience never meets.

It's a coin flip, basically. 5/10
