15 Potential Plot Twists That Could Ruin Upcoming Movies

14. Jason Statham & Luke Evans Aren't In It - Furious 8

The Twist: After the end of Furious 7 so perfectly set up Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) and his crippled brother Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) teaming up to fight Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his team, how hilariously left-field would it be if they weren't in it at all, and the movie just went in a completely different direction? Why It Could Ruin The Movie: Because the set-up is so fantastic, and an eighth film with the Shaw brothers keen for revenge would pretty much write itself. Throw in some more awesomely over-the-top action and have the Shaw brothers get wiped out at the end, and you have a pretty solid formula for another riveting entry into the series. If, for some reason, Statham and/or Evans isn't available, it makes the filmmakers' jobs much harder: they'll need to consider new villains and start casting calls, which given the projected April 14, 2017 release date, will need to start pretty damn soon. Plus, given the blatant sequel bait that is both Shaw brothers surviving, it would be supremely lame if they aren't the main antagonists.
