15 Predictions For 2014 Movies Everybody Got Wrong

15. Interstellar Will Be Christopher Nolan's Best Movie

The Prediction: With its gorgeous visuals, deeply personal family theme, epic scope and a reborn Matthew McConaughey continuing his ascent to further awesomeness, why wouldn't Interstellar be a classic for the ages, and easily the best movie Christopher Nolan has made to date? The Reality: Of the nine feature films Nolan has directed, Interstellar is the worst-reviewed of the lot, sitting at a respectable if unremarkable 73% on Rotten Tomatoes. While critics praised the performances, the visuals and the staggering ambition of the piece, the usual Nolan complaints about clunky exposition and poor female characters came flooding in, as well as a hugely divisive third act that seemed to deviate from the hard science veneer of the previous two hours. In short, Interstellar is a good and interesting film, the sort of which film buffs should be encouraging more of, but certainly not a masterpiece, and in fact, probably Nolan's worst effort to date.
