15 Predictions For 2015's Biggest Movies

4. Bond 24 Is Good But Not Great

Expectations are naturally sky-high for the currently untitled 24th James Bond film, which is due to go into production at the end of the year, with Sam Mendes returning to direct Daniel Craig's fourth time up to bat. Mendes' Skyfall was so much stronger than our wildest expectations that he, Craig and writers John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will certainly struggle to live up to that level of excellence. What will the movie need? An impeccable villain capable of living up to Javier Bardem's demented genius, cinematography that can measure up to Roger Deakins' Oscar-nominated work (fat chance), and simply the feeling of freshness that made Skyfall such a hit in the first place. There is zero doubt that Bond 24 will be a massive commercial success, but we're trying to keep our expectations of the film middling in order to avoid disappointment: a 70-80% on Rotten Tomatoes is pretty much what we'll expect, because as talented as everyone attached to the movie is, it's simply difficult to imagine them out-doing Skyfall. Again, we'd love to be wrong...
