15 Predictions For 2015's Biggest Movies

5. Assassin's Creed Will Be The Best-Reviewed Video Game Movie Of All Time

Alright, so we're not exactly setting our sights high with this one, considering the best-reviewed video game adaptation to date is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, with 36% on Rotten Tomatoes (we're not counting Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within because it has nothing to do with the games), but we're still expecting good things from the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie. What has us excited, exactly? For starters, Ubisoft have been granted an unprecedented degree of creative control on the project, writer Michael Lesslie and director Justin Kurzel are fresh off the mega-hyped Macbeth adaptation due for release later in the year, and Michael Fassbender (who also stars in Macbeth) isn't just starring in this film, but is also producing it. With its inherently cinematic style and massive popularity, the Assassin's Creed series is pretty much tailor-made for a movie tie-in, and though we won't be expecting a critical marvel, we suspect it'll at least manage to creep into the 50% mark, and with Fassbender's apparent confidence in the project, perhaps even higher. More to the point, we suspect it'll actually make a ton of money, unlike most video game movies to date.
