1. Star Wars Episode VII Is A Critical Success, Will Gross $2.3 Billion, Become The 2nd Highest-Grossing Movie Of All Time
It's not exactly an outlandish prediction to say that Star Wars Episode VII will gross the GDP of a small country, but how much exactly will it make? Some analysts have pegged the J.J. Abrams-directed sci-fi as potentially being the movie to dethrone Avatar's immense $2.78 billion haul and even cross the $3 billion mark, making it the highest-grossing film of all time by a decent margin. Still, we're going to be realistic and guess that Episode VII will cross the $2 billion barrier with some ease, edging out Titanic to become the 2nd highest-grossing film of all time with a legendary $2.3 billion haul. Though Episode VII is likely to prove more divisive with fans than critics by sheer virtue of nerdy nit-picking, we suspect the movie, with Abrams as its captain and also boasting a superb cast, will earn in the 80-90% range on Rotten Tomatoes, and ultimately be considered one of 2015's best blockbusters. Perhaps it's our blind optimism, perhaps it's the fact that George Lucas is nowhere near it, but we have faith that Abrams can make Star Wars magical again. What do you foresee for these huge 2015 movies? Let us know in the comments!
