15 Predictions For 2015 Movies That Everybody Got Wrong

5. The Film Will Be Heavily Biased - Straight Outta Compton

The Prediction: With two of the film's subjects, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, serving as producers, why wouldn't they depict themselves in a biased, overly positive light? Considering the notorious egos that rappers can have, it doesn't seem possible for the film to have any of the critical distance necessary to be an accurate retelling of events. What Actually Happened: Though the film did fudge a few facts (and conspicuously omitted Dr. Dre's assault of journalist Dee Barnes), it is for the most part an unexpectedly candid biopic, accepting the flaws of the seminal rap group amid their undeniable talent. Above all else, we see them as the flawed, angry young men they were, and it's about as far away from a hagiography as you could expect, given the blatant sexism that's prevalent throughout the film (though it would have been supremely dishonest to clean this one up, despite people criticising the film for showing it).
