15 Predictions For 2015 Movies That Everybody Got Wrong
13. Mila Kunis' Character Gets Killed Off - Ted 2
The Prediction: With it being confirmed pre-release that Mila Kunis' character Lori wouldn't be returning, wouldn't it have made a ton of sense for Seth MacFarlane to write her out in a hilariously bizarre, over-the-top way? What would be a more amusing means of papering over the ridiculousness of her absence (considering that the first movie was so concerned with her and John getting married) than having her die in a ridiculous accident of some kind? It makes too much sense for MacFarlane's comic sensibilities. What Actually Happened: Sadly, MacFarlane opted for the far more boring and conventional choice of simply writing Lori out with one line of dialogue, that she and John got divorced shortly after marrying because she couldn't get on board with Ted (MacFarlane) being a constant presence in their lives. How MacFarlane dealt with this plot thread pretty much summarises exactly what Ted 2 is: a lazy sequel that jettisons what made the original so hilarious and unique.
