12. Mel Gibson Has A Secret Cameo - Mad Max: Fury Road

The Prediction: Though all involved with the new Mad Max attested that the rumours of Mel Gibson cameoing as a drifter were just that, it was hard to believe them, given how brilliantly poetic it would've been, and considering that Gibson's schedule isn't exactly crammed full these days. What Actually Happened: Writer-director George Miller and co. weren't lying: Gibson doesn't appear in the final movie (unless he's under heavy make-up and we've been trolled all along), and it seems to be true that they tried to find him a part but it just didn't fit into the end product. Of course, there's the very real possibility that Warner Bros. simply didn't want Gibson to have anything to do with their $150 million R-rated gamble, considering that he's basically poison as far as PR goes.
