11. The Cloverfield Monster Would Show Up - 10 Cloverfield Lane
Years went by after the original Cloverfield without a sequel, so fans assumed it just wasn’t going to happen. Then out of nowhere it was announced 10 Cloverfield Lane was a sort-of follow-up, which would explore another side of the alien invasion.
This was seriously savvy marketing on JJ Abrams part since it got people buzzing for a movie they had no idea was coming. Naturally, the implication of it being a Cloverfield movie was that the monster would make a return, and from the trailers, it seemed like a safe bet aliens would figure into it.
While there are aliens in the movie alright, sadly the original monster himself is nowhere to be found. Maybe he’ll reappear in the next Cloverfield, but he sat this one out.
