Speaking of Aquaman, it's been a long-standing rumour that Aquaman (Jason Momoa) had an "invisible cameo" of sorts in Man of Steel.

After Superman (Henry Cavill) saves trapped workers on a burning oil rig, the rig collapses on him and he's left floating in the ocean before eventually drifting back to shore.

In late 2017, Jason Momoa claimed that director Zack Snyder informed him this was intended to imply that Clark Kent had been rescued by Aquaman, giving the heroes their first crossing of paths in the DCEU.

As a result, some fans suspected that the Aquaman movie might even feature a retelling of this sequence, or in the very least confirm Arthur Curry's presence during the oil rig disaster.

But of course, it was a big fat nope. And honestly, it's just as well, because it sounds convoluted as hell and would work against Aquaman being a mostly standalone superhero origin story.
