15 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About 2015's Biggest Movies

3. The Hateful Eight May Alienate More Casual Tarantino Fans

The Hateful Eight is Quentin Tarantino's latest movie, a western starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Channing Tatum and Zoe Bell. That's quite the cast ready to get the hype machine rolling, but even so, it's certainly possible that more casual Tarantino fans may find themselves struggling to appreciate his latest work. It all depends on how closely the final product adheres to the writer-director's leaked script, which was essentially a chamber piece unfolding in an incredibly small number of locations. The relatively low $44 million budget (compared to Inglourious Basterds $75 million and Django Unchained's $100 million) suggests the movie will stick relatively closely to the original script, and as such it may not be bombastic and over-the-top enough for his more recent fans. Of course, those who've seen every QT joint to date will probably fall in love with it either way, but more casual cinemagoers may struggle with it.
