4. Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation Was Written By Drew "Iron Man 3" Pearce
You'll struggle to find someone who wasn't enchanted by the first trailer for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. It looks like a boatload of fun, and the fact that it was pushed forward from its original December date all the way to July suggests that Paramount are extremely confident in the final product, even though it only finished shooting last month. However, there's one rather curious aspect of the movie's production which has a lot of fans talking, that screenwriter Drew Pearce co-wrote the script. Pearce previously co-wrote the highly controversial Iron Man 3, which caught a ton of flak for its bait-and-switch treatment of the famous villain The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley...kinda). While Ethan Hunt and his comrades aren't at all precious characters on par with comic book icons, many are worried that Pearce may introduce another twist merely for the sake of subversion rather than actual dramatic impact which causes Rogue Nation to be a narrative disappointment. Of course, time will tell...
