Universal TV recently announced that they would be turning Sex Criminals into a television show, but a big-screen version of the story should be considered. With recent films like Neighbours and 22 Jump Street, the R-rated comedy genre continues to be a huge money-spinner.
Sex Criminals is very much the comic equivalent of pretty much any Judd Apatow movie, but done especially well. Witty and funny, clever and inspired, knowing but guileless, the story effortlessly introduces two characters you feel you’ve known for years, throws in a high concept plot, and mixes in moments of comedy, tragedy and mystery, and it all hangs together perfectly.
