15 R-Rated Comic Book Movies That Need To Happen After Deadpool
1. Howard The Duck
“You will believe that a duck can talk.”
The 1986 George Lucas-produced Howard The Duck is largely regarded as a truly terrible film. Part of this was due to the fact that it didn't know what it wanted to be. Was it aimed at children or adults? Nobody knows, and the end result was a movie that didn't cater to either demographic particularly well.
Fast forward to 2014, and interest in the character has been renewed thanks to a near-genius post-credits scene in James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy. Sadly, the rumors that Howard would be given a prominent spot in the MCU were quickly shot down (but one can still dream).
Howard is just what the Marvel movieverse needs. In the comics, the character is a cynical, loudmouthed, cowardly extraterrestrial, brought to Earth by accident and dragged on adventures against his will. He’s a vehicle for delivering weirdness and provides a satirical window on the sometimes overly serious Marvel universe. An R-rated Howard The Duck movie would be a dream come true. After everyone enjoyed a movie about a sarcastic, gun-toting space raccoon, is Howard The Duck really that much of a stretch?
