The horror anthology can be a wonderfully macabre thing, with eighties audiences enjoying the likes of Creepshow, the nineties getting The Willies and, recently, TV having a stab with American Horror story. Now we have this neat Y2K entry to add to the genre.

Featuring efforts from horrors les enfants terribles, Ti West, Adam Wingard and David Bruckner among others, V/H/S is an on point compendium of 21st century terror tales - it's also damn right terrifying.

The setup isn't original - burglars tasked with stealing a mysterious VHS tape get more than they bargained for when they have a gander at it - but it's the stories themselves that will have you in a tizz, from opening tale, Amateur Night, and it's monstrous finale all the way up to 10/31/98 and its smart found footage slant on a Halloween nightmare. This is a remarkable and unforgettable group effort.
