15 Remakes Of 1990s Movies Coming In 2019 (And Beyond)

6. Jacob's Ladder

The original version of psychological horror Jacob's Ladder may not have made a fortune at the box office, but it remains one of the most iconic horrors of the early 90s thanks to its creepy story and memorably weird imagery. It's now a bona fide cult classic, which naturally means fans are a little up in arms about the prospect of a remake at all.

The upcoming remake, which is directed by David M Rosenthal was initially set for a February release, but it was dropped from that release slot and doesn't currently have a new date. That might set pulses racing with anxiety, but Rosenthal's potential was obvious in The Midnight Meat Train and there's a solid cast in the shape of Michael Ealy, Guy Burnet, Karla Souza and Nicole Beharie.

Described as a modern day paranoid action thriller about two brothers, it'll struggle to recapture the imagery of the original, but there's definitely good potential here.
