Who doesn't love a movie about horrible killer spiders invading a small town and leaving a trail of dehydrated bodies in their wake? That's some good old-fashioned popcorn cinema right there. Which is ironic, since one scene includes a couple dying when a spider hides in their popcorn.

The original comedy horror was a force of nature for everyone who had issues with spiders with some great performances - notably Jeff Bridges and John Goodman - and it's such a simple, awful premise that there's definitely space for a new version. After all, spiders haven't gone anywhere and are no less creepy than they were back in the 1990s.

Fantastically, Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and James Wan’s Atomic Monster are working together on the project, which immediately makes it even more exciting.
