Easily the most exciting remake coming in 2019 is Greta Gerwig's redo of Little Women, which is based on the 1868 novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. After Lady Bird earner her serious plaudits, the director's next work was always going to be particularly eye-catching.

The original had a great cast, with the likes of Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, Christian Bale, Gabriel Byrne and Susan Sarandon. But the new version has an even more impressive cast. Emma Watson, Meryl Streep, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, Bob Odenkirk, James Norton and Chris Cooper will all combine for Gerwig's hotly-anticipated take on the material. If she can channel the spirit of Lady Bird once more, we're looking at a real winner here.

Don't expect too much of a deviation from the source material, but Gerwig's version will focus more on the March sisters' young adult lives, particularly after Meg, Jo, and Amy leave their family home and will jump back and forth in time. So it'll at least be presented differently.
