On the back of scoring huge successes with Get Out and Us, Jordan Peele is going more traditional with his next big horror movie project by remaking 1992's Candyman.

He's producing rather than directing - those duties will go to Little Woods helmer Nia DaCosta instead - and the project has reportedly been called both a remake and a "spiritual sequel" likely starring Sorry To Bother You's Lakeith Stanfield, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Virginia Madsen. None of them will be playing the titular supernatural villain though.

Let's just hope they bring back Tony Todd for his most famous role. He's certainly enthusiastic about the project at least, as he told Nightmare on Film Street:

"I'd rather have him do it, someone with intelligence, who's going to be thoughtful and dig into the whole racial makeup of who Candyman is and why he existed in the first place."
