15 Scariest Stephen King Movie Moments
12. The Night Flier
Let's be perfectly honest here, the 1997 adaptation of The Night Flier is not a very good film or a particularly good adaptation. What it does well, though, is creepiness, and a lot of that comes courtesy of the look of the titular vampire.
Putting aside the fact that he travels by airplane, the reveal of the creature is legitimately scary, thanks in part to the build that focuses first on his grave acts, with the opening scene's murder inside his hellish plane the crown jewel of that establishing work.
And then when the monster gets his big moment, he turns out to be one of the most terrifying looking vampire creatures in film history. It's just a shame the rest of the film couldn't live up to it.
