13. Marvel Executives Butted Heads Over Iron Man's Role - Captain America: Civil War
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige almost ended up quitting the company after a major falling out with Marvel Entertainment's notorious cheapskate CEO Ike Perlmutter.
Originally, Robert Downey Jr. was supposed to have a smaller role that required just three weeks of shooting, but when he pushed for a larger part that naturally came with a large payday, Perlmutter reportedly flipped his lid and ordered Tony Stark to be written out of the movie.
In response, Feige considered leaving Marvel Studios until he was able to convince Disney CEO Bob Iger to re-structure the business so that Feige no longer had to run creative by Perlmutter.
Having seen the final film, it's impossible to imagine Tony Stark not in it, so it's safe to say that this was all for the best, and props to Feige for pulling off an impressive power play.
