3. An On-Set Concussion Convinced Ryan Gosling There Was A Worldwide Donut-Thieving Conspiracy - First Man
While shooting one of the space shuttle sequences in Damien Chazelle's Neil Armstrong biopic, Ryan Gosling hit his head but initially thought nothing of it.
Once at home and talking to his wife Eva Mendes on the phone, however, she became instantly alarmed when he wouldn't stop ranting about a conspiracy involving...donuts? In Gosling's own words:
"I was just hell-bent on this idea that there were people in donut stores all around the world, you know, trying to charm their way into getting free donuts."
Mendes suggested he might have suffered a brain injury, and after some added protest about "donut charmers", Gosling finally agreed to go to hospital, where he was diagnosed with a mild concussion.
