15 Stupid Harry Potter Movie Mistakes You Probably Missed

9. The Visible Marks

Timing is one of the most difficult skills to master when it comes to acting and most directors will be fairly kind to their cast by providing them with visual cues to aid them in delivering their lines right on the mark. This is also the case for scenes which require actors to move to a particular spot or to forewarn them of pyrotechnics etc - it's a simple but effective system.

However, unlike the theatre wherein it's expected that markers might be in the audience's field of vision, visible cues in movies is borderline unforgivable. Cue cards, tape markers and even actors reacting too early to a visual effect are things that have turned up in numerous movies down the years but the enormous budget behind Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets should have meant the team paid more attention.

As the Weasley family rush onto Platform 9 3/4 to make sure Ginny isn't late for her first year at Hogwarts, there is a visible tape marker on the platform itself which acted as Mark Williams' cue to deliver Arthur Weasley's line - it's so obvious that it can never be unseen.

Not that it should have been seen in the first place.
