15 Stupid Mistakes That Somehow Made It Into 2017 Movies
1. Visible Roll Cage - Atomic Blonde
At the conclusion of the movie's epic mid-film car chase, Lorraine (Charlize Theron) and Stasi defector Spyglass (Eddie Marsan) witness one of their pursuers' cars get hit by a white truck, catapulting it into the air in slow-motion.
Keep your eyes peeled, though, and you'll be able to make out a fairly obvious roll cage in the back of the car, intended to ensure the stunt driver's safety.
What makes this especially blatant is the use of slow-mo, giving viewers an extra moment to soak all the artifice in. Maybe we should just be glad they used actual cars rather than just doing it digitally, but considering how slick the rest of the sequence was, even using CGI to cleverly sew takes together, would it have killed them to use some of that digital wizardry to paint the roll cage out?
