15 Stupid Star Wars Movie Mistakes You Probably Missed
10. Finn’s Disappearing Blaster - The Force Awakens
Finn ended up becoming a rather minor character in the Disney Trilogy, but this did not mean that the character did not have their own badass moments.
The Force Awakens made Finn only the second non-Jedi character in any of the Star Wars films to wield a lightsaber. His biggest moment was when he goes one-on-one with Kylo Ren on the Starkiller base with Luke’s old lightsaber.
This wasn’t the first time he has used the lightsaber, as he fought a stormtrooper with an electrified baton amongst the rubble of Maz Kanata’s castle. But if you pay attention, the reason why he uses the lightsaber is because of a continuity error.
Maz shows Finn the lightsaber while they are in her underground storage area. In this scene, Finn clearly has the blaster Han gave him before they left the Falcon. When the First Order attack and the gang make their way topside, Finn’s blaster has mysteriously disappeared.
Finn would never have had to use the lightsaber in the first place had the filmmakers not forgotten they already gave him a weapon earlier in the film.
