14 Summer 2016 Films You Aren't Excited About (But Should Be)

13. Green Room

Green Room Patrick Stewart
A24

Release Date: May 13th (UK)

Another one US readers will have already had the chance to see, as it's out now stateside, and the word is this new movie from Blue Ruin writer-director Jeremy Saulnier will be one of the most intense, suspenseful and brutal movies of the year.

It centres on a small-time punk rock band who, following a gig in a remote backwoods club, are horrified to witness a murder committed by the club's staff, who turn out to be neo-Nazis. So begins a desperate and bloody fight for survival.

The noteworthy young cast includes Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots (who previously co-starred in 2011's tepid Fright Night remake), but the film's most eye-catching casting is of course that of Patrick Stewart, playing very much against type as a violent American white supremacist.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
