14 Summer 2016 Films You Aren't Excited About (But Should Be)

12. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Paramount Pictures

Release Date: May 13th (UK)

Once again, US readers may have already caught this on its March release stateside, but those of us on the other side of the Atlantic have not yet had the chance to see comedy star Tina Fey do her thing in a slightly more serious and grounded set-up than usual.

This fact-based film, adapted from war correspondent Kim Baker's memoir The Taliban Shuffle, promises to take an unusually light-hearted look at the recent US military conflicts in Afghanistan and Pakistan, from the perspective of a bold, sarcastic, all-American woman.

We don't get too many mainstream movies nowadays which balance timely real-world subject matter with humour in this manner, so Whiskey Tango Foxtrot promises to make interesting, and hopefully entertaining viewing. Fey also has an impressive, big name cast backing her up including Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Alfred Molina and this year's big up-and-comer Margot Robbie.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
