Why It Looks Terrible: Despite being touted as Cameron Crowe's (Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous) comeback to good filmmaking, the trailer for Aloha looks more akin to a schmaltzy romantic comedy than it does one of the sublimely witty movies the writer-director used to be known for. Plus, during the Sony Pictures hack late last year, the company's former co-chairman Amy Pascal
didn't mince any words about how the movie was testing poorly because it "never, not even once, ever works" and "makes no sense".
How It Will Make A Profit: Because it has a stupid-good cast including Emma Stone (fresh off her Oscar nomination), Bradley Cooper (who proved himself box office dynamite with American Sniper), Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Danny McBride and Alec Baldwin. It won't be a stratospheric success on the scale of many films on this list, but it'll surely make its budget back thanks largely to its A-list cast.
