And finally, here's a classically awful James Bond moment that defies any expectation anyone could have about even the Roger Moore James Bond movies. Watching this clip now, it feels like something fan-made that was posted online for fun, not something that got the green-light from so many creative people behind the Bond series. During the opening snowboard chase sequence in A View to a Kill, the tone suddenly changes from awesome explosions set to the classic James Bond score...to Bond evading his pursuers backed by a cover of The Beach Boys' hit California Girls. The musical switch is incredibly jarring and doesn't fit at all with what's happening on screen: the gunfire continues for a brief period before the scene switches to a lighter, sillier tone as Bond flees his attackers without any bullets being fired, but still, it is horribly out of place in a Bond flick, and hasn't aged well at all. Well, the scene did apparently help popularise snowboarding in the 1980s, so that's something... Are there any other wince-inducing Bond moments which nearly ruined the series for you? Shout it out in the comments!
