15 Terrible Recent Movies Destined To Become Cult Classics

1. Transcendence

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 19% Why It Sucks: Wally Pfister's disappointing directorial debut had so much promise, but wasted its enormously talented cast (including Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany, Kate Mara, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman) on an asinine screenplay which made cardboard cutouts of its characters, and simply didn't have a firm handle on the technological logic of its premise either. Why It'll Become A Cult Classic: That said, it's almost certain to be a movie that ends up being re-evaluated in the future, as audiences ignore the critical reception and seek it out for themselves at home on the basis of its stupid-good cast. Its ambition will no doubt win it plenty of supporters, who will forgive the film for its countless issues and simply admire the daring concept, detached from the enormous expectations the film was faced with ahead of its original theatrical release. Are there any other movies you expect will become cult classics in the near-future? Shout it out in the comments!
