15 Terrible Scenes In Awesome Comic Book Movies

5. Kangaroo Vampire Ninjas - Blade II

Remember how bad the CGI in Matrix Reloaded was? There's that one scene where a million Agent Smiths all attack Neo at once and the resultant mess of pixels looks like Mario and Luigi just threw up on screen. Fortunately, nothing in Blade II is quite as bad as that, but early on in the film, one fight between the vampire hunter and a pair of ninjas comes close. For most of the battle, the stunts look suitably realistic. Director Guillermo Del Toro has become a celebrated director for good reason after all. However, towards the end of the fight, things suddenly take a wild turn into Matrix Reloaded territory, with both Blade and the ninjas jumping around like cybernetic kangaroos whose feet have been replaced with springs. Such a thing doesn't look totally out of place in a movie like Blade II, but the overall effect still pulls audiences directly out of the experience. If you're looking for a retro throwback to some of your favourite 90's video games, then this is the superhero fight for you. Otherwise, you're probably better off just pretending that this fight is an artistic choice akin to the anime scene from Kill Bill Vol. 1, except, you know, crappier.
