15 Terrible Scenes In Awesome Comic Book Movies

1. We Won't Tell Nobody - Spider-Man 2

Andrew Garfield was the perfect Peter Parker, but he arrived on the scene a few years too late, unfortunately starring in the divisive Spider-Man reboot series. Prior to that, Tobey Maguire carried the responsibility of bringing the wallcrawler to life and overall, he did a great job, despite some occasionally weaker material. Spider-Man 2 was the pinnacle of the series, but not even this franchise highlight could escape the odd moment of cheese. After Spidey successfully stops a train from careening off the rails in NYC, he faints from exhaustion. City folk are apparently the nicest people of all, as the passengers decided to carry the Webhead to safety, rather than rob him and auction his mask on Ebay. That in itself isn't too problematic. Without Spider-Man's help, the passengers would all be people-sized smudges on the ground, so of course they would be grateful. No, the issue here is how cringeworthy the rest of the scene plays out. Spidey may as well have grown a beard and called himself Jesus, as the hero worship is all a little bit too much on the nose. Combine that with some truly appalling performances from the child "actors" and you have yourself a scene better suited to Spider-Man 3 than Spider-Man 2... And there's no harsher words that could be said than that. Can you think of any more terrible scenes in awesome comic book movies? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
