15 Things In Harry Potter That Don't Make Sense
12. Barty Crouch Jr's Mad-Eye Moody Impression
Polyjuice potion can be an extremely useful asset to have in the wizarding world. Though it takes months to brew, and can go badly wrong if not done properly, there are countless situations that looking like somebody else could benefit a witch or wizard.
The only drawback however, in the movies at least, is that only the physical appearance changes, not the voice, though this never seems to hinder anyone or raise any suspicion at any point. However, in the Goblet of Fire, this rule is broken.
After posing as Mad-Eye Moody for almost a whole school year, Barty Crouch Jr is eventually found to have been impersonating the former auror with the help of a lot of polyjuice potion. While this explains the appearance, it doesn't explain how Crouch was able to sound exactly like Moody.
Maybe he went full method in order to convince everyone at Hogwarts, mastering his Moody impression, but this seems like a weak explanation. Not to mention that it would be pretty much impossible to sustain for a year in front of people who know the man well.
