8. When Someone Says It's Japan's Version Of Disney
Its a phrase that Studio Ghibli fans know all too well, and often have to smile and nod in reluctant agreement to avoid bursting into flames of rage at the sound of the most ignorant words known to man. This may be a slight over reaction, but it is simply a fact that Disney have never managed to reach the heights of beauty and charm that Ghibli accomplish time and time again. There is nothing wrong with Disney, in fact it is also in a league of its own entirely, but it is a completely separate entity from Ghibli. The only thing the two have in common is an animated style, everything else, from themes to character design is entirely different. It could even be argued that Ghibli is not particularly suitable for kids, just ask anyone who has ever seen Grave of the Fireflies. *Sobs uncontrollably at the thought*.
TV and Film fanatic with too much time on her hands and a penchant for fast food and handsome men, not necessarily in that order.
Self proclaimed 'funny one' among family and friends.
